The Industrial Revolution is a significant historical event that has had consequences for the world we live in today. It changed the concept of work, introduced the concept of a compulsory education for all children, enriched those countries that were first to industrialise and helped spur on imperialism and the need to colonise new countries for cheap labour and resources.
