    TITLE Touching the Past

AUTHOR  Basil Carryer

This unit focuses on the achievement objective, understanding "how people remember and record the past in different ways". Touching the Past uses the School Journal article 'Saying Goodbye' as its introductory focus. The aim of the unit is to explore why the past is important to people and the many methods used to record and remind themselves of it. Students extend their understanding by comparing the ways that people remember and record the past with those of whole communities.
